The difference between steel ball and steel forging for cement grinding media

- Jul 20, 2018-

Both steel balls and steel forging belong to cement grinding media. Although the two functions are common, they are slightly different in process and appearance. The steel ball as a grinding medium for cement grinding will collide with the material and cause abrasion and peeling.

The size of the cement mill grinding medium steel ball depends on the physical and mechanical properties of the ore and the ore particle size composition. The ore with large hardness and coarse grain size needs to have a large impact force, and it needs to be loaded into a steel ball of a larger size. Soft ore is small in size and requires a finer particle size. It should be based on grinding and can be loaded into steel balls of smaller size.

At the production site, a variety of spherical diameter cement grinding media are loaded into the grinding machine to process materials of different sizes of ore particles according to a certain proportion. In theory, only by ensuring that a certain proportion of the balls can be adapted to the particle size composition of the material to be ground can a good grinding effect be obtained.

Cement grinding and grinding medium steel forging is added with Mo, so its corrosion resistance, atmospheric corrosion resistance and high temperature strength are particularly good, can be used under harsh conditions; work hardening is excellent, so it is widely used in cement, fertilizer, Silicate products, new building materials, refractory materials, black and non-ferrous metal beneficiation and glass ceramics production industries.
