The characteristics of grinding balls used in mining

- Sep 19, 2018 -

When grinding balls are used in mining, the performance requirements for all aspects of them are more stringent. What are the specific aspects? First, it should be a high quality grinding ball after heat treatment. Stable product quality, high hardness, good hardenability, compact structure, small crystal grain, small deformation, uniform deformation of steel ball, no roundness, good wear resistance, impact toughness up to 12-35j/cm2, breaking rate less than 1% .

Secondly, in practical applications, grinding balls used in mining should be able to reduce energy consumption, reduce labor intensity and reduce production costs. The product has good formability, small geometric tolerance and stable quality. Moreover, the wear rate is low, the service life is long, and the ball hardness can reach 60-67 HRC, so that in practical applications, the requirements for long-term use can be satisfied.

In addition, the impact ball used for the mining product should have an impact toughness of 12-35j/cm3 and a specific gravity, which should be in the range of 7.8-7.85 J/cm3. Of course, when analyzing the performance, when the grinding ball is used for mining, its wear resistance and mechanical strength should also reach a high standard.
