Grinding media ball technology standard and application field

- Apr 23, 2018 -

The main role of the grinding media ball is to grind the material, which actually belongs to a kind of grinding medium, generally refers to the steel ball used for grinding the material of the grinding machine. Grinding media balls include different types of balls, such as cast steel balls, forged steel balls, rolled steel balls, bearing steel balls, and the like.

1. Preparation method of grinding media steel ball:

At present, the most widely used abrasive media balls are mostly low-chromium steel balls, which are the most important grinding bodies in ball mills. Low-chromium balls are produced by medium-frequency furnace smelting, metal molds, or sand casting, and are often referred to as low-chromium alloy casting balls.

2, grinding media steel ball technical standards:

In order to ensure the use of results, it is necessary to ensure that the produced grinding media balls reach a certain quality standard. First of all, when judging whether it is wearable, the most important basis for judgment is the hardness index. Rockwell hardness tester can be used to detect the hardness. Practice has shown that the service life of steel balls above HRC60 is more than twice that of HRC40-50. The low-chromium steel ball refers to a steel ball with a chromium content of less than 3.0% and a carbon content of between 1.80% and 3.30%. Low chromium ball hardness requirements must be above 45 degrees, if you guarantee the use of low-chromium ball quality recommendations must use heat treatment tempering or vibration aging treatment. If the test hardness (HRC) is less than 40 degrees, it indicates that the low chromium ball is under-hardened or over-heated.

3, grinding media steel ball applications:

At present, the grinding media steel ball has been widely used. The fields involved include: metallurgy and mining, cement building materials, fly ash, thermal power generation, flue gas desulfurization, aerated concrete, magnetic materials, chemical industry, coal water slurry, pellets , slag, ultrafine powder, calcium carbonate, quartz sand and other industries.
